Let’s be honest, there’s going to be another Grand Theft Auto game. You don’t turn away from one of the most successful franchises of all time, especially when your last outing was so well received by the majority of critics and gamers. It’s the ‘when’ that has everyone talking when looking forward to the next Grand Theft Auto title. More rumors have surfaced about the next installment and some of the characters you may see.
It has been long rumored that one of the code names for the next GTA is ‘rush’ and the people over at VGHQ have more evidence thanks to a long trail of breadcrumbs they’ve tracked very carefully. Assuming that code name is true, then we may also have an idea of some of the characters in the game. A listing over on ‘The Agency Online’ from November details what appears to be a casting call for a large number of characters to work on a project named ‘rush’. You can check out the complete list here but it includes FBI agents, a neurotic soccer mom, a ‘weed evangelist’ and several other very interesting characters. That sounds about right for a GTA game, doesn’t it?
As usual, until we get an official word from Rockstar, write this off as a big fat rumor as none of this may be true. But hey, that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun speculating, right?

I’d like to see some character customisation in a new GTA, where you can level up in different areas allowing access to certain missions in branching story lines.
It would provide good replay value also and you could have different chracters for different game modes online once you have completed the game.
Another ‘drive here, kill this, drive here’ fest would probably ruin the franchise for me and they desperately need some innovation. Almost real life locations like the new liberty city helped, and i also liked the mobile phone aspect.

Oh come on, I finally get used to saying Gran Turismo 5 (or GT5) instead of mistakingly saying GTA 5 and you come and bring this up!
On the plus side, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love the GTA games and considering the wait that’s been involved it better be the best one ever! Not some Liberty City Stories nonsense [The PS2 version]

I´ve been looking forward to GTAV since the day I put GTAIV in to play it. It was ok for a while, pretty, the world was huge but the story didn´t go anwhere, the controls were horrible especially when driving and it took all the fun away from the game. Resolve these things and for got sake set it somewhere else other than Liberty City, Vice City or San Andreas and you´re on to a winner.

So are they just going to do NY, and LA? There are other cities in the World. I’ll buy it and play the sh!t out of it though, but still…a different setting would be good.

GTA IV was a terrific game… enjoyed every second of it. Can’t wait to hear more about what’s going on… should be a good one! :)

It’d be nice if they didn’t do any timed exclusive material for Xbox this time. I personally liked the serious turn GTA made, but a return to a little more tongue-in-cheek is welcome.

Can’t wait though I hope Rockstar gets back to a more comical theme unlike GTAIV. Speaking of HD collections, when is Rockstar gonna give us a GTA collection? Would love to see Vice City or San Andreas in glorious HD.
