Brink To Launch A Week Early

Finally, some good news regarding release dates.

Bethesda have today announced that their upcoming parkour-flavoured first person shooter Brink will hit retail a week earlier than planned.

EU gamers will be able to grab a copy as soon as May 13th, launching three days earlier on May 10th as usual across the pond. The reason? Bethesda marketing rep, Pete Hines, explains:

Production wrapped on Brink earlier than we planned and we didn’t see any reason to keep gamers from getting their hands on this highly anticipated game as soon as it was ready…

It’s apparent from the tremendous reaction so far that people are eager to jump online and play, and if we can make that happen earlier – we’re going to.

  1. Still on the fence about this one. On the one hand it looks really good and the multiplayer focus is certainly appealing, but on the other, at its core, the game is just another FPS, a genre I have been playing a lot of recently in the form of Homefront and Killzone3.
I heard there is a demo due this week (well, “before the 16th april” the article said if I recall) so that should hopefully help make my decision :)

  2. good thinking chaps, now I can play Brink earlier. wohoooo
