More Burnout Crash Info Outed

It seems last week’s report of a game named ‘Burnout Crash’ certainly got a lot of people excited. The team over at Joystiq have done a bit of digging and received the following information from the Australian classification board:

The game is “an action arcade style game set in the fictional world of Crash City. The aim of the game is to cause as much damage as possible to traffic and buildings by crashing a car into them.”

Can you hear that sound? That’s the sound of the team at TSA screaming with giddy excitement.

  1. Its looking more likely this is true which is a good thing. I wont be completely sold till I hear its real and Criterion are developing it.

    • Yep, same here, on both accounts.

  2. Ugh – Would have much preferred to have seen this as the replacement for showtime mode in Burnout Paradise 2 (or whatever).
Saying that though, i do like that buildings have been included in the descriptions – I get the feeling it could be a bit of a cross between Burnout & Red Faction Guerilla, so it could be a bit of a treat afterall.

    • depends what they mean by buildings, think you could knock signs down and certain bits of scenery in 4 and that didn’t add much

    • I’m a bit cautious about buildings. as I only ever played this on the PSP and burnout 3 and both were fine without that.

  3. While i like the crash/showetime modes in previous burnout games, they certainly aren’t enough on their own. But as a $5-$10 downloadable, that could be a win. Assuming that it’s being done by Criterion.

  4. I hope it’s like the mode from Burnout 2. Point of Impact was the best Burnout Imo

    • Burnout 3: Takedown is angry with you for saying this.
Point of Impact was great though. :)

      • I’m on Takedown’s side for this fight.

    • Burnout 2 > Burnout 3

      • Loved them both. Took both to bed with me. Spooned only one of them, won’t tell which one.

      • But which spooned you?

  5. Fingers crossed for Criterion.

  6. Sweet Jesus! I’d like a return to Revenge’s style with the new Burnout to be perfectly honest, even though Paradise is my favourite racing game this gen. Excited, to say the least.

    • Revenge yes but not the crash mode….

  7. Coolio. Will get into this game as I hear nothing but love for it!

  8. Is it just me or does anybody else out there dislike racing games without ‘real’cars in it? I hated burnout paradise for may reasons but one of them was also the made up cars…. sounds petty but to me it matters
