Rumour: PS Store Returning On Friday?

The last we heard from Sony is that the PlayStation Store would be back “by the end of the week”, which more than a couple of people took to mean “next week sometime”. But a posting from a Minis developer may have revealed that the Store is indeed set to return this Friday.

“Block Cascade Fusion is coming as Minis for PS3 and PSP to North America on 3rd June 2011!” wrote Gamelion on their Facebook page a couple of hours ago. The Friday date suggests that it may be one of the games released in the first post-hack Store publish.

Of course, even if that statement turns out to be correct, there’s no confirmation that the European and American Stores will be reactivated at the same time – although we’d hope so.

The Network maintenance (that noted the Store would be unavailable) rescheduled from earlier in the week is now due to take place tonight, with an estimated completion time of 7am tomorrow. Perhaps the Store will be back tomorrow, with the first publish on Friday, including Block Cascade Fusion? Maybe it’ll be back tomorrow, with new content, and the aforementioned Mini in the second content push? Or even just reactivated on Friday, loaded with new goodies?

Really, we don’t know yet, and we likely won’t until after tonight’s maintenance, but we know you’re all eagerly waiting for the Store’s return so thought we’d pass the message on.

This is Bullshit, we were told by Sony that the PS Store would be back up by 1st June 2011….Well that is today, Sony you really know how to annoy your Customers….3 weeks to have the PSN back up when we were told 2-3 days…..Now we hear the PS Store is going to be back up today, what a load of crap!! Hurry the hell up with bringing it back up, we’re all waiting for our FREE Downloads including the New Black ops Escalation Map Pack. Now if they say the 3rd June 2011 it’ll be back up and it’s not. Customers will not be able to get it letting us down yet again……***SORT YOURSELVES OUT SONY***……

      But my god, I also feel very sorry for the lonely souls on this planet who have spent nothing but 4 weeks of there life crying on the Internet about Sony this and Sony that! You gotta laugh but also feel pity for these people.

  4. If it is not a statement by Sony then why bother posting this at all. Even posting it as rumour seems pointless.

    • the pspgo was a rumour, the 360 slim was a rumour, the 3ds was a rumour.

      mind you there have been even more that proved untrue, but so long as it’s made clear it’s a rumour i don’t see a problem.

      speculating about rumours is all part of the fun of any event like e3.

      • I agree for things like E3 and consoles etc. However rumours like this end up causing people to be rude and nasty in comments if it turns out not to be true.

  6. £100 says it’s back up on Monday 6th of June. I’ll put in a call to Sony, tell them my final year of uni, including all exams and dissertation, is finally over and that they can go ahead and flip that switch to restore all functionality.
