Sun, Sand and Scarves: It’s Journey Gameplay Footage

At the heart of thatgamecompany’s latest is a well-worn phrase: “it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.” There’s no dramatic endgame or driving plot – Journey is more about just enjoying the experience.

Sony have released the first, sadly only a minute long, gameplay footage from the upcoming downloadable title, which we’ve embedded below for your enjoyment. Here’s hoping we see a lot more before this week is through.

Journey is coming exclusively to PSN later this year.

  1. It’s sooooo beauuuuutifuuuullll

  2. Looking forward to this, even if they did steal my face design from The Reticle ;)

  3. I’m just totally unsure of this. Wandering around a desert with nothing to do sounds boring as hell to me. But then sp does controlling the wind and blowing petals round a field but flower was good.

    • I was going to say the same thing, what are you supposed to do in this game?

      • Not being cheeky but i think the idea is that you explore and discover for yourself :)

    • There are puzzles to solve, too.

  4. Man why didn’t they make games like this in the early 90’s when i was droppin acid.

  5. Exclusives are always a good thing. Looks different. Hope it will be as good as it looks. Looking forward to hearing and seeing more on this.

  6. Probably my most anticipated game of the year, cannot wait.

  7. Dear god, that is exquisitely beautiful. Assuming there’s a game under the bonnet, this is going to be another incredible experience (like Flower).

    • I agree. It looks beautiful. I just hope it doesn’t feel too short.

  8. Nooo! An error has occured, I can’t watch it :(

    • Works now, yay! Looks awesome – games with no hud look so much better! Can’t wait for this

  9. This looks wonderful, like a flying dream. Has there been any news about a release date?

  10. I’ve been looking forward to this since it was announced, but I have to admit, I was slightly underwhelmed after watching that. A 1 min clip isn’t enough to make a final judgement though.
