Podcast: E3 Special – Sony

After entirely too much time awake and not nearly enough caffeine, we watched the late-night Sony press conference. It screened after 1AM, UK time so we didn’t record it immediately afterwards, preferring to sleep a bit (or not). We recorded this yesterday evening instead, right after the Nintendo conference (which will have its own ‘cast tomorrow).

We discussed all the big titles that were shown as well as some of the less enthralling ones and then we talked a bit about the PlayStation Vita. Who am I kidding, I don’t really remember talking about anything. It’s been a long and stressful few days.

This podcast features strong language, jokes in poor taste and adult themes, if you’re offended by that then we recommend that you don’t listen to it at all.

  • As usual, you can grab the MP3 file here (right click to download).
  • You might want to get it (when the RSS catches us) on the RSS feed, here.
  • Or we’re on iTunes, when iTunes feels like updating. You can also leave us a review and subscribe there, if you want to be particularly lovely.

If you’d like to hear anything specifically on the podcasts, or if you’d like to let us know how awesome (or not) we are then please leave comments here, reviews on iTunes and send email to podcasts[at]thesixthaxis.com. We answer as much as we can. Get us on Twitter:

  1. Looking forward to this one, Ive gots loads to listen to now.
TSA Sony E3 podcast, OPM E3 podcast, PSM3 E3 podcast, thats about 5 hours in all.
    Pure heaven

  2. Shame I missed sitting in on the podcast. I’m not partisan towards any of the big three, but I genuinely thought Sony has the strongest presser.

  3. Pin-pointed in the first couple of minutes exactly what was missing from Sony’s keynote…. Kevin Butler!

    • Also, I forgot that Subway were giving away the entire Uncharted3 multiplayer game before the game is even released. WTF???

      • Haha, same here. The FULL multiplayer? I assume it will be a limited version of the full game which fully opens when the retail copy is purchased.

      • I thought it would be a map, but I remember the word ‘entire’ perhaps it expires around the time the game is released

But this will lead to loads of people ranking up and having access to perks that people who buy the game won’t get for weeks. I think its a bad thing, in other words.

      • sadly though, it seems just in the us, even though subway have plenty of store in the uk.
there’s one in my local shopping centre.

      • excuse the double post.

      • yeah thats not fair all the Americans will be being all pro on anyone that didn’t get a beta or that Subway thing :/

        Not bemused/amused

      • Unsadly though, my girlfriend lives in the US. I hope she likes Subway ;)

  4. I was wondering why Kris was such a Debby Downer about this conference and then it became clear….

(regarding Dust 514) “It’s now a PS3 exclusive, which might make me buy a PS3”

    Wait, what?

    You don’t own a PS3?

    Seriously?

How can a writer for a games website _not_ own every console? I don’t get it, I really don’t.

Apologies if I misunderstood what you meant and you _do_ actually own one.

    • Because he doesn’t have to write about every console?
The staff is large enough, after all…
Plus, I’d imagine that it would be pretty expensive…
