Battlefield 3 PS3 Gameplay Demo Shown

We all know that Battlefield 3 looks amazing…well, the PC version does. A live demo of the game running on the PS3 was shown on Late Night with Jimmy Falon, giving us a glimpse of what console owners can expect.

  1. If I do get this game I will still get it on PC however they have done a great job with the console version! I hope Activision actually open their eyes a little.

  4. Stands up pretty well graphically to the PC version, I am sure console owners will be very happy.

    If FPS are going to continue to be the bread and butter of consoles next gen, then MS and Sony really need to come up with something better than current controllers. The lack of precision and speed really slows the gameplay.

    • Some of us like slower, more realistic games.

    • I agree – I have never had any issues in playing with a dualshock.

      • Me neither, I can’t see why the Dualshock gets so much stick.

      • Aha, i see what you did there! (Analogue) stick? :D

      • In fairness, the only thing that really bothers me about the dualshock are the L2 & R2 buttons. But a couple of cheap trigger attachments sort them out.

    • I like playing with a normal controller always have always will the games just work better with it i don’t really like keyboard and mouse

      • Me neither. Actually, on the PC, I only like to play games with lots of jumping. When playing FPS, I tend to aim to the side of my target, and because the mouse sensivity is too high, I can’t aim at him. And I can’t play with mouse sensivity too low. Now with a analogue stick, you can always get the right place, because the sensivity depends on how far you pull the analogue stick. I guess it’s a matter of habit…

      • Each to their own, but having used both controller and K&M for many years, I always find I am slightly hamstrung using a controller when it comes to axis movement in FPS on consoles.

        I have nothing against controllers they are compact offer a good range of inputs and suit many gaming genres well, but I feel it would be a good step forward if the controllers X, Y and Z axis could allow for increased precision for your average FPS.

      • Ah, but the important thing is that EVERYONE is hamstrung. There’s no-one with a £200 keyboard and a 1,000,000 dpi mouse. My Counterstrike loving friends have recently switched to PS3 FPS due to PC games descending into lightning headshot sniperfests. It takes everyone a while longer to line up a shot, but there’s compensation in place in that hitboxes on player models are larger than on PC games. I think it’s an important leveller.

  6. Its looking pretty good, you can tell the difference, but to be honest I was well impressed with BFBC2, so anything better and I’m a happy chappy. Just wish this Jimmy Fallon wasn’t allowed on it lol

    • Yea he seems a bit of a dick , i remember i think last year watching one of these clips where he had a French guy on from Ubisoft possibly ? And he was taking the piss out of his accent too (and the little giggles from the crowd too) . I see he’s at it again with the Swedish guy here , so bloody disrespectful .
      I’d have loved it if the Swedish bloke had said “whats Mul-TIE player ?” , ” Don’t you mean Multiplayer?”

        Better to be busy than sat around twiddling your thumbs though. Especially when you are doing something you love.

  8. Looking good. I think the PS3 version holds up pretty well against its PC counterpart. It’s already on my pre-order list, whereas MW3 I’m still undecided about.

    • I’d say I’ll end up getting both :)

      Looking forward to Battlefield 3 ten times more than MW3 though!

    • I’ve started hating CoD since I watched a MW2 video on X360 and noticed it had motion blur. And the PS3 does not. MOTION BLUR! Name 3 non-exclusive PS3 games with motion blur.

  10. Looking good, not quite as good as the PC version as I expected, but still better than I thought it would be. Roll on October!
