WeView: Killzone 3

After a less than stellar turnout for Split/Second, it seems like it’s time to turn to a blockbuster title. Killzone 3 is the obvious choice, it’s certainly a community favourite here at the TheSixthAxis, along with its predecessor. Of course, being a favourite amongst readers doesn’t guarantee it an easy ride, and hopefully it’ll generate a range of opinions.

As is the custom with WeView, let’s take a look back at what we thought of the game when we cast our eye over it at release. We were very impressed by the game, scoring it all the way up at 9/10.

Killzone 2 fans will lap up this continuation of one of the PS3′s best games. It’s a well made game with a much better story, more rounded characters and oodles more variety.

Gone are the sole dull greys and browns of Helghan of old, the planet now serving up rich jungles and snowy outposts in amongst the heavy metal of the urban settings, and it’s all the better for it. It’s not perfect, but it’s smart enough to know that, instead offering a ballistic run-through that’ll keep you busy until it’s complete.

And then there’s Elite mode, and that all-encompassing multiplayer…

Things are looking good for Guerrilla Games’ latest shooter from a review stand point, but the real question is will you agree with us? Do you feel we got it right, or were we completely wide of the mark? Could you just not understand the score? Well now’s your chance to let us know.

Just head over to the forums and leave us your thoughts on the game. Whilst I’m not going to discount longer reviews, please remember that the aim is for short, snappy opinions. More than that I simply don’t have the time to wade through longer reviews, so if you want to have your opinion included in the verdict post try to keep it short.

Once you’ve written your review make sure you give it a score on the Buy ItBargain Bin ItRent ItAvoid It scale. Remember, if you want your score and opinion included in Monday’s verdict post you need to have it done by Sunday afternoon, otherwise I’ll have written it and you’ll be left out in the cold.

  1. I tried my hardest not to write a massive review on this one, I tend to get a bit wordy when not supervised! :)

  2. I never played any multiplayer as much as the one of KZ2, absolutely loved it. But I never really got into KZ3, nowhere liked it nearly as much. Will go back to KZ2 sometime, hope there’s still somebody playing…

  3. I love playing all of the CoD games, but IMO KZ3 is unmatched online. The single player is great as well, but it’s the multiplayer that completely grabbed me. Far smoother experience this time around too.

  4. Argh, third week in a row that I can’t participate due to not having played the game. :(
Hopefully there’ll be a classic next week that I know all about…

  5. Loved it.Big fan of Killzone 2, so was looking forward to the 3rd.Did not dissapoint.always baffles me how likes of Edge single out the KZ series for not re-inventing the wheel, yet likes of MW, Halo escape untouched.

The online side? superb, just seemed far more brutal, raw than anything else i’d tried online.
