People expecting the Uncharted 3 beta to be a glorified promotional demo were probably left a little disappointed yesterday, as it launched with more than its fair share of issues.
Thanks to Sony’s Welcome Back PlayStation Plus offer, the beta was open to everyone and this showed with the matchmaking struggling to cope for the first few hours after going live. Players lucky enough to clear that hurdle intermittently found themselves being kicked from games.
Not the most serious of problems and no doubt attributed to the presumably huge interest in the title.
More worryingly were the reports of dodgy framerates, freezing issues and even system crashes. Naughty Dog were quick to react saying:
“RE: framerate + system freezes: we’re looking into this right now it’s not consistent or everyone so it’s taking a bit of time to track down.”
It seems they have tracked it down as a patch has now been released.
Weighing in at 18MB, it will automatically download the next time you boot up the beta. So far patch notes haven’t been released as Naughty Dog were working way into the night to try and get the issues sorted, but we’ll update this article as soon as we hear what’s been fixed.

I got into two matches, the first one was fine for about 3 mins than my system froze up completley. The second match lasted about 4 mins with horrible frame rate then my system froze again. At that point i turned off the PS3 and went and played BLOPS.
It doesn’t really matter if i get to play the beta or not, U3 is a day one purchase regardless. The Uncharted series is single most important reason to own a PS3, love it. For what it’s worth, the total 7 mins that i played seemed impressive.

All I get is “error initialising session manager” whilst connecting, one time I didn’t get that and was in matchmaking for 10mins before dumped at the main menu… It’s like Uncharted 2 all over again

I played a few games this morning without any problems and was impressed with what I saw. Unfortunately it won’t let me download the latest patch now and whenever I try, my PS3 freezes for a few seconds then reboots.
I’ll try again later and hope that it works then as I don’t want to miss out on the TSA meet tonight.

It done that for me too one of the best ways around it it unplug the machine and plug it back in i have had this issues a couple of times when downloading updates and found thats the best way around it. Hope that helps :)

Lol, that’s funny, on three separate occasions yesterday afternoon I tried to update and after two attempts gave up as my PS3 kept rebooting!! If only I’d tried one more time!! ;)
In the end, I deleted my Game Data (not my Game Save) as I’d read somewhere that that may help, and on my next attempt it updated OK, so if anyone else is having problems updating, it might be worth giving this method a try.

Tried it out this morning. It’s awesome! Couldn’t seem to find any matches at first. But after a couple retries it worked like a charm from then and onwards.

I hadn’t had any problems in till 30 mins ago when it sighed me out of psn. All I get now is error messages

My Playstation crashed whilst playing it this morning, but hopefully this patch will sort out that issue along with more.

I don’t understand why people would even want to play a half finished online mode? Especially one for an Uncharted game, which are all about the SP.

The Uncharted 2 (and now 3) multiplayer is actually great fun and rather deep comptetitively if you choose to look for it. It’s not bad at all.
Oh and as for your question, I don’t really think anyone’d want to play that unfinished CoD-level.
