Burnout Crash! Features Spandau Ballet?

Criterion Games have uploaded a picture from the EA Summer Showcase which shows ‘some of the many influences that inspired the game’ and ‘some of the musical acts which are also in the game’.

A quick glance reveals Vanilla Ice, Spandau Ballet and… Sir Bruce Forsyth.  A poster for the song ‘Crash’ by The Primitives is also present and you can spot a picture of Richard Whitely and Carol Vorderman.

A cover of 80’s pop magazine ‘Look-In’ is pinned to the wall but I cannot make out who is on the cover, however I am pretty sure that on the very far right (next to the T-shirt with an exclamation mark) the black and white picture is of Wincy Willis.

If you are aged 30 or under this post will not make sense to you. If you are older than 30 then you may recognise some of these people, but still be very confused, I know I am.

In other Crash! related news, apparently the game was previously a Wii title and the developers managed to get the game up and running, using XNA, in just four weeks.

  1. I spy Jim Bowen with a Bullseye “Bully”, as well as Gloria Estefan & Jimmy Tarbuck…

  2. …and I think the picture above Brucie is the cover of Pet Shop Boys “Domino Dancing” single – which kinda makes sense.

  3. 37 here. Think I see Wincey Willis over there on the right. :)

  4. Bottom left under Spandau poster – Richard Whitely & Carol Vorderman from an early countdown no? more Channel 4 above with Annika Rice (and Helicopter) from Treasure Hunt…

    …you can tell I’m 38 can’t you…

  5. Is that Blockbusters? Gold Run etc etc.

    • Ooh well done, I can see that as well now.

  6. The cover of Look In is a picture of Matthew Corbett and Basil Brush – perhaps because of the Boom! Boom! catchphrase?

  7. “In other Crash! related news, apparently the game was previously a Wii title”

Well, that actually makes perfect sense…

  8. WTF……

  9. I would have laughed if the sub-heading just simply said “True.”
