Star Trek Has ‘A Long Development’

“We’re not talking about that yet” and other similar phrases have been used a lot by Steve Sinclair, Creative Director of Digital Extremes, creators of the new Star Trek game.

The plot of the game takes place between the last Star Trek film and the follow up and has been written by Marianne Krawczyk (God of War series) in collaboration with Bob Orci (Star Trek, Fringe, Transformers and all round very nice chap). In an interview with Examiner.com, Steve said:

We’ve been fortunate to have a long development cycle for the game that we hope will remove the stigma of a ‘movie game’ with this one.

The game features ‘crazy cool alien technology’ (‘but we’re not talking about that yet’), ‘enemies’ (‘we’re keeping the enemy under wraps right now’), and ‘puzzles and problems’ (‘without revealing too much’).

It may or may not feature multiplayer (‘right now we’re just talking about my favorite form of multiplayer, co-op’) and could possibly feature the movie cast (‘it is still early for us to announce such things’).

  1. I wonder how long it will take to develop?I wonder if we will have another DNF on our hands. It would be nice if they release a few concept arts and screenshots as i have no idea about this and didn’t even know there was one in the making.

  2. I’d comment, but I would be giving away too much information.
