This year, Gamescom is all about the PlayStation Vita. Well, it’s not all about the Vita, there has been plenty of other news so far to feast on.
It’s safe to say that the new Sony handheld is the star of the show, though. New hardware is always exciting and with the Wii U sitting this one out, Vita is the undisputed main attraction for many.
Let’s take a look at some of the trailers and gameplay demos that have been released for the new crown prince of portable gaming.
First up, this is F1 2011. Just imagine how difficult it will be to resist the urge to cheer as you win the Driver’s Championship from the third row of the bus.
Sticking with the petrol theme, here’s Asphalt Injection:
Enough of all those growling engines and screeching tyres. Let’s take a look at one of the more relaxing (and, personally, very interesting) Vita titles, Little Deviants:
Lovely. Now, what about an augmented reality graffiti game that is sure to cause some mild perspiration in the Daily Mail offices? This is Tag, a kind of creative, social thing rather than a proper game, at least, as far as we can tell.
Alien Spidy is not a game featuring a martian boy that was bitten by a radioactive arachnid. It looks like a kind of perilous platformer featuring a cute spider as its protagonist. Well, as cute as those eight-legged hell beasts get, anyway:

And to finish off, just because we know it will be the one that most people want to coo over: Uncharted Golden Abyss

Asphalt Injection looks rather a lot like Burnout, so it could be good if there isn’t a proper Burnout game available. Alien Spidy looks pretty good as well, shame there was no new Gravity Daze trailer, but that’s more likely to turn up at TGS I suppose.

It’s all about the games lineup and damn it’s looking good.

Wow, F1 has me very impressed as does that cute spidey game, Uncharted is awesome as always
Mason_Mk
All of those games look very fun, well asphalt was a bit plain but if it’s anything like burnout it’s sure to be fun

F1’s handling looks totally foreign to that of F1 2010 on PS3…

Some excessive steering by the guy playing the game. Must be his first ever lap around Spa on his first ever go on a Vita.
Origami Killer
They all look brilliant, the turning in F1 looked a little too sensitive though. As for Little Deviants, it looked so fun and used the touch screen well. Also Uncharted looks very similar to the first, lush jungle etc. Vita is looking very good

Wowerz!

GO GO Gadget Vita? I hope it as like extendable arms.

As long as whoever who made the last F1 game on PSP isn’t there, then I hope its good. The handling ruined it for me I think they did the last games? don’t they ever fecking learn?!

Its 11.55 and I leave an 2pm. Youtubes blocked so any alternatives?

F1 looks great, asphalt looks functional. Little Deviants looks to be a cute showcase for the motion/touch controls. Alien Spidy has already endeared me and Uncharted lloks amazing. Nice round-up, not a turkey in sight although the graffiti game seems interesting but a bit limited .

The Uncharted Video is private so I can’t see it…gutted.
