Incredible Portal Fan Film Surfaces

I know it might seem like I’ll ramble on about how good Portal is from here to eternity. There’s a reason for that, however, I would stop if extraordinary things linked to Portal stopped crawling out of the woodwork. I doubt that’s going to happen, though, so here’s yet another incredible thing linked to Aperture and its Handheld Portal Device.

This time, however, I really mean it: this short film, named Portal: No Escape, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, is astounding work. If you love Portal, you need to watch this right now, so sit down, dim the lights, prepare yourself and watch the video below. Oh, and don’t forget to turn HD on.

  1. I saw that ages ago (when Portal 2 was launched) I am very certain it was posted here on TSA 0_e

Would love to have that gun I’d go bat s*** crazy xD

    • You can’t have, it was literally just posted today. Might have been the one Liam linked to below.

      • SHHHHHHH!!!! Don’t use my real name! The government are on to me now!!!! WHERE’S MY FOIL HAT!!!!111one11!!1

      • Liam, we’ve been tracking you for years…

      • Oi. Thats my name!

  2. Brilliant. Thought it was a continuation of outside Aperture which is also amazing, but this is just as good. Lovely

Oh and heres the ‘Outside Aperture’ link if you haven’t seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NorZUFfpvC0

    • I preferred this, though that video is nice.

    • Almost as good, but still great, thanks for sharing. ;)

  3. Liked the part where the view of the city was just a wall… WITH COMPANION CUBES BEHIND IT!

    • Spoilers!

    • Yeah what the… at least let us find out for ourselves!

  4. 2 fantastic videos I hadn’t seen before, thanks for the links! Love No Escape, visually very impressive. I like the way Outside Aperture shows how dependant Chell has become on the Portal Gun though, things like using it to throw rubbish in the bin without thinking etc. Both very clever!

  5. OMG that was Awesome! Forget about Half life 3 – i want this made into a game now! …. oh, but don’t really forget about HL3.. :)

  6. Money + 2 hours ???? = Profit?

I don’t know it looks amazing, I wonder if a movie would work well for Portal.

  7. This IS the best sci-fi film I have seen this year. Incredible and beautiful. Somebody needs to get this guy to make the Portal film. Who’s with me?

  8. Great stuff. Danielle Rayne, though possibly a bit old, is good for the part of Chell – I envisaged Chell to be early 20s.

However, I want a Portal Gun – the model/prop in the film is just wow!

I don’t think a full film could be made of the game – it would just be boring. It’s the problem solving that makes Portal/Portal 2 great, not the drama – and the humour of course!

    Now who could play GlaDOS…?

  9. Oh my.. Make this a feature film! Twas a great watch.

  10. Any of you guys see this recent marriage proposal?

Features none other than Ellen McLain herself voicing GLaDOS. :D Should place this in the main news section I think… this was just awesome.
