Forza 4 looks like it will be an amazing driving game. The Autovista mode, which we’ve looked at before, seems like a stunning addition too. Although we can’t see players revisiting the Kinect-powered car encyclopeadia repeatedly, it is a wonderful addition that allows us to fawn over the beautifully rendered supercars.
And now Turn 10 has seen fit to throw the Halo 4 Warthog design in there too.
This is an amusing step, and one which Halo fans will probably love, from the Forza developers. Forza 3 did a solid job of supplying free gift cars from the developers that were liveried in such a way as to promote big Microsoft releases (I remember an ODST Lambo, if memory serves) and this could be an evolution of that.
Let’s take a look at the pictures:
What else would you like to see given the highly detailed Autovista treatment?

That is seriously cool. Awesome.

If it wasn’t already, this is halbpro’s must have game of 2012.

Batmobile from Arkham City (or even multiple ones throughout the ages), James Bonds under water Lotus, Troop Transport from Aliens, Star Wars Speeder Bike…
ScottW-1976
Non of which are connected to Microsoft so wont get included. All about the marketing…

I think you’re probably correct but I also think it would be beyond awesome to have a kind of TV and Movie museum in Autovista with loads of licensed bits and pieces like the Dukes of Hazzard Charger, the Starsky and Hutch Torino and the A-Team van alongside Batmobiles, speeder bikes and the Ghostbusters hearse.
hazelam
that sounds like the most awesome idea i’ve ever heard.
if mortal kombat can get freddy, why can’t a racing game get kitt, or the general lee, or the delorean from back to the future “when this baby hits 88 miles per hour you’re gonna see some serious shit”.
seriously, they’re missing a trick here.
they’ll sell extra cars after the game launches.
but i bet they’d get huge sales if they got some iconic film and tv cars.

@haz
You haven’t seen the car packs for burnout paradise I take it?
Jimster71
I’d like to see Scooby Doo’s Mystery Machine and Dangermouse’s flying car.
linkavich
… dangermouse … The Game hmm it might just work
AG2297
I love this. Looks brilliant.

The raft from Kinect Adventures next, please.

Make it drivable or fail.
I don’t quite get all the hype about Autovista. GT has had photomode since ‘forever’ and GT5’s rendition is already every bit as good if not better than what we’ve seen of Autovista (minus the Clarkson voice over which will no doubt be limited to a select few supercars). Are we all really that impressed by a fancy rename?
yogdog
I’m not, was thinking this when I read the article this morning.
job
im sure ill look at one car in autovista then get straight back to racing never to return.
The Lone Steven
It is a shame and a massive tease that you won’t be able to drive it. :( I wonder if they will get the Batmobile and other iconic cars as that would be an excellent incentive to buy the game. :)
hazelam
drivable version for sale later on?
bah, they wouldn’t do that. >_>
