An alleged leaked document is floating around showing that “Smash Bros Universe” could be the next game in the Super Smash Bros. series.
As you can see, the U logo from Wii U has been used on the word Universe too.
However, Super Smash Bros series creator, Masahiro Sakurai, had said that the team was busy on Kid Icarus: Uprising and had no time to work on the new Super Smash Bros, going as far to say that it should not have been announced.
Nintendo have not commented on the validity of this document and I’d say we don’t go thinking this is official. It could be a concept that might never get used or a hoax.

I’d say a new Smash Bros. is in the works. It seems natural for it to happen (we’re probably gonna halfta wait quite a while though). I could also see it happening on the 3DS: it has analog control, and some other series are moving from console to handheld (Paper Mario and Luigi’s Mansion 2). I just hope in this new installment that they include everyone from the previous games (including Snake and Sonic), and that they leave out Marth (he’s too overated in my opinion, but I can see that’s not going to happen).
