SWTOR Launches In December, Sub Prices Confirmed

During their BioWare keynote at this year’s Eurogamer Expo, Dr. Greg Zeschuk and Dr. Ray Muzyka finally announced a release date for hotly-anticipated MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic. Stateside gamers will be able to pick up their copies on December 20th, the developer’s debut MMO launching two days later in Europe.

Subscription prices for The Old Republic have also been confirmed, the base rate being £8.99 a month. Players can save themselves a bit of cash through buying bulk subscription plans of 3 months (£25.17) or even 6 months (£46.14.) BioWare has yet to confirm whether a lifetime sub will be available for SWTOR.

  1. Had my preorder in for a while now – looking forward to it

  2. Ouch, my wallet.

  3. I really hope lifetime subscriptions catch on. I’d love to have them for the FF MMOs. I’d probably still be playing them every now and then if I didn’t have to always resubscribe just to find out that I only had 2 hours time to play during the whole month.

  4. I want this, but my internet connection is a bit intermittent and I have a phobia of bills. And I need a new computer. One day…

  5. With DC Universe going free to play, this has put me off buying SWTOR to see if the same happens with them. Really getting more and more interested in the game though.

  6. 9 pounds a month is not as much as I expected, awesome.
