Star Wars: The Old Republic Legacy of the Sith delayed

Star Wars The Old Republic Legacy of the Sith Header

Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Legacy of the Sith has been delayed, BioWare has announced. The new date that has been given for Legacy of the Sith is now February 15th, 2022. The reason given for the delay is that additional time is needed for testing the new content that will be added to Star Wars: The Old Republic. Project Director Keith Kanneg wrote a statement on the game’s website and you can read the full thing below.

“We have made the difficult decision to delay the release of Legacy of the Sith to February 15, 2022. Like many of you reading this, I personally cannot wait for the launch of our next expansion. I’ve greatly enjoyed my time exploring the depths of Manaan, testing out new story and ability combinations with Combat Styles, and more during internal playtests.Legacy of the Sith is something the team has been hard at work on for quite a while but as we get ever closer to launch, it is clear that we need a bit more time. We’re focusing additional testing on the many areas we have changed throughout the game to deliver the experience we want, and one that you deserve.

In addition, during our public test server (PTS) your feedback was invaluable in helping us to shape this expansion. Outside of story content (to avoid spoilers) the majority of the expansion and its features will be returning to the PTS for all subscribers this week.
We’re thrilled to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Star Wars: The Old Republic with all of you over the next year with Legacy of the Sith and more!”

Legacy of the Sith will take players to new locations where players will be able to experience new Imperial and Republic storylines, that will shape who has control of these locations. The first of these locations is Manaan where players will fight through underwater facilities that will ultimately decide which faction controls the planet, and its kolto resource. Then on the planet Elom a ruin of a Sith Fortress is discovered where Darth Malgus is said to be searching for relics that relate to both the Sith and Jedi. The Elom storyline will be available to play alone or in multiplayer. Finally, players will have a new R-4 Anomaly Operation to take part in where a Sith cult has found an ancient and powerful weapon. This mission will require a group to play through. Players will also be able to mix and match their combat style meaning they are not locked to just their chosen class abililties.
