Well, we certainly enjoy our shooters, don’t we? So much so that it has been confirmed that over eight million users took part in the Battlefield 3 beta, scoring 1.5 billion kills.
Other stats released include the longest headshot (635m), shots fired (47 billion) and the number of people who lost their dog tags at the end of a knife (19 million).
The full game is out next week.

Imagine how many people would have played a COD beta. 20,000,000 easily.

And i bet half of those kills were done by campers. Grr. I swear they exploited the sinking through ground glitch. :( It’s out next week?! :O I hope there will be a demo released this week that fully represents what BF is. *coughs Planes tanks etc coughs*

Couldn’t play it, waiting to return home at the end of the term and game seriously hard. missing all releases until 10th December or so.. :(

The final version of the game better be superior to the dross that was the beta

I’m hopeful the full release hits the mark. The BF2 map pack will be interesting to get.
I think the on screen display was terrible especially compared to BF2 which I’m still playing and enjoying.
And EA’s Origin is utter rubbish and whilst people say Steam wasn’t great at first EA are trying to release a massive game through a channel that’s not ready for it. I’ve seen mention of ongoing talks to release BF3 on Steam and I can only hope it happens.

this. steam is by far the more matured and just a better service to deal with a game of this magnitude plus i have no friends on origin :(

Eight million Beta* users?

Come on, you can’t seriously think that this was just a demo, especially after all the work DICE put into ensuring that there were feedback channels for the Beta.
