BioWare’s new game has been revealed at the VGAs – and, as rumoured, it’s a new entry in the Command and Conquer strategy series, titled Generals 2.
The original Generals was released on PC in 2003, and whilst no platforms have yet been announced for the new sequel, it’ll be built on the Frostbite 2 engine and released some time in 2013. Here’s the reveal trailer, which really isn’t much more than the previously-released teaser:

Didn’t expect this! Generals is one of my favourite games and by far my favourite C&C…with this on Frostbite 2 too, it’s going to be amazing!

Same, Generals is one of my favorite games ever! I hope this finds a console release, as my PC days are over now.

This one was disappointing for me, at least, assuming it’s an RTS like the other C&C games. RTS is totally not my thing. It did look lovely though…

I was in awe when I saw the title, as I mentioned in an earlier post, this was my hope – and it turned out real. Now I really need a new PC, or maybe (seeing Bioware’s the developer) this could be the game to show RTS can work on consoles, please do move support!

EA has already shows RTS work excellently on consoles with Red Alert 3. I don’t kid you, with the moves i pulled there i would need at least three or four hands on a PC.

Why does the trailer make it look like a FPS rather than an RTS??
Kennykazey
It doesn’t IMO. It just tries to immerse the viewer in the battle. As soon as it zoomed out overhead, I understood it was an RTS due to the viewpoint.

I noticed it shows part of the yellow base, it’s USA and has a the building you can buy vehicles from and a supply-area with a crane. Looks very much like the same designs Generals had, but more detailed, which is good.

And I think the other faction is GLA. I do hope they bring in a fourth faction, three has always been too few IMO.
