Rockstar Employee CV Lists October As GTA V Release Date

You know what I learned today?  That a date listed on a CV means – apparently rather concretely – that said date is the final, absolute date that a game will come out.

A game that, by my reckoning, is absolutely not a matter of months away from release.  A game that would end up running at the same time as stablemate Bioshock Infinite and presumably mid-DLC for Max Paye 3.

That game?  Grand Theft Auto V.

Think of poor old Alex o’Dwyer, character animator over at Rockstar.  He listed October 2012 as the date that GTA V was to be finished as part of his CV.

If you hadn’t heard of him before, you’ll know him now.  And the date has since vanished from his resume and LinkedIn profile, making the news even more true, although caches and screengrabs of the evidence abound.

It’s all very exciting.

  2. Same year as Max Payne? Unlikely and I can’t ever remember a time when Rockstar released a game in the run-up to christmas. I’d love to have it in October though!

  3. When you look back at the massive marketing campaign, which was a year or so before release, I doubt it. However, I so much want this to be true. I think(hope) this could be the best GTA so far.

  4. Does anyone remember how long it tok Rockstar to deliver GTA IV from the moment they released the first trailer? It was about 13 months give or take a few days. If that is anything tog go by (big if I know) then an October 2012 release would make sense given the first GTA V trailer was released in November 2011.

  6. you are all retarted if you didnt know the release is October its a simple as going to blockbuster.co.uk then go to quick search box and typing in gta v.. then it takes you to a screen where u can pre order the game in the uk and it says in big bold letters release october 2012 wow that was tough.

  8. ..and as far as them releasing two big titles with gta and max payne in same the year well yea its called making money because we want both games so of course we are going to go right out and buy both regardless of reviews this way rockstar banks off of two major titles instead of just one gta title its called marketing and money management people double the games build the anticaption on both reel all of us in and double your money.
