50 Million Downloads For Angry Birds Space

Angry Birds mania is a long way off disappearing it seems – developer Rovio has revealed that its latest, Angry Birds Space, has been downloaded a whopping 50 million times.

The figure of 50 million downloads in just 35 days smashes all of Rovio’s previous records to itty, bitty pieces. If I whip out my calculator, that total equates to roughly 1,428,571 downloads per day – nothing to be sniffed at.

Reaching that total in such a short period of time has been ‘simply amazing’, according to the Finnish developer:

“We extend our deepest gratitude to all fans of Angry Birds everywhere. While numbers like this certainly say something about the popularity of Angry Birds, for us the main goal is to keep creating fun new experiences that everybody can enjoy!

“We just launched the first free update for Angry Birds Space, with plenty more surprises in stock.”

  1. How many of those were on iOS……..

  2. free to download so not surprising number really.

  3. Free to download or not, this is still a really big number, all the previous Angry Birds were free on Android but none of them reached sales like this.
I have to say the game was really enjoyable at first, but lost its taste very quickly.

  4. Overated game in my opinion, gets boring very quickly. Going by the figures I’m obviously in a minority though.

  5. Wow, nice work! Personally I can only play it for a few mins before getting bored but I suppose that’s what makes the game so popular; perfect for small snippets of gaming while travelling to and from work, etc.

  6. Same with all games, they get boring if you churn out the same stuff. Although Space one is different, its still the same formula.
