First FIFA 13 Screens Show Men With Balls

Today’s been one hell of day for content, despite being a bank holiday (with Starhawk, Datura and Minecraft all out for review) but there’s still time for a little bit of fluff in the shape of these first FIFA 13 screens.

To me it all looks lovely and shiny, but some details may interest those of you with more than a passing (ha, see what I did there?) interest in the sport that’s normally better with some dubstep and a washed out yellow tinge.

Look out for more realistic ball control, better player impact, more realistic dribbling, better free kicks (you can now feint a direct shot and adjust it to a player who comes off the wall) and – apparently – better attacker AI.

The graphics look much better too, with the player models benefiting from Dimensional Imaging.

  1. I hope Fifa 13 gets released for Vita also. While Fifa Football is funny, it is riddled with a lot of annoying bugs and feels a bit rushed.

  2. A graphical upgrade is what I really want this year. There was such a huge leap in terms of gameplay from 11 to 12 that I can’t see them doing much with it this time around, but I think it could be a good time to really improve the animations and player likenesses.

All the players for the top teams look great in fifa 12 but I think they need to make sure everyone looks at least a bit like their real-life counterpart as at the moment some of them are embarrassing. Hopefully they really focus on it this year.

  3. RVP at Arsenal next year?

  4. Wish I could get into fifa… gonna give it another go!

  5. its amazing how bad fifa is on PC, when i tried the steam demo the frame rate was shit, the anti aliasing was almost non existent, the screen tearing made the game almost unplayable, you needed a game pad for it to even be playable and it looked awful compared to the consoles. i’m running a radeon hd 6970 that cost more then my PS3 and can run battlefield 3 on triple screens on high.

    • A Fifa demo on Steam? what are you on about?

Now to be fair Fifa 12 on PC has been a much better effort than previous iterations, now its pretty much identical the console versions but a bit faster in loading and displaying menus. Its a good game in fact with the AA its quite impressive.

  6. Meh they really should sort the shadows hate them. Also I hope the ads are better because I’ve always found them to be half-arsed. Hopefully a single striker that is highly skilled won’t be destroying my team because that is so annoying..

  7. “Look out for more realistic ball control, better player impact, more realistic dribbling, better free kicks” <- was this copied from last 10 years press release?
