Unconfirmed – but a German retailer appears to be suggesting Diablo III will be console exclusive to the PS3, with full details announced tomorrow. We should stress that, as this is a simple boxshot and placeholder leak, nothing is detailed or confirmed. What is suggesting that it might be exclusive is the fact that it’s listed on that site for PS3 but not for Xbox 360.
You might remember that I mentioned rumours that Diablo III was having problems with Microsoft certification for a 360 release when I speculated about possible Sony announcements last week.

Hopefully there’s a way to get keyboard and mouse support in there, failing that – Move. This could be absolutely massive for Move if it’s true, regardless of exclusivity.
The game has a 2012 release date.

Exciting! To stay up, or not to stay up?

I wonder if MS’s policies are the main reason for Diablo 3 having trouble getting certified by them?
Seeing as Sony seem to be more gentle with their certifactions(barring SCEE) i’m not surprised that we may see Diablo 3 become exclusive but i really hope they won’t try to implent the online always DRM. :S But combining Error 37 with Error SCEE is at it again may prove to be fatal. ;)

Yeah, MS usually wants to have full control over the servers. I wonder how Square Enix got them to allow Final Fantasy XI to access external servers.

It’s probably similar to Valve and Steamworks for Portal 2.
The PS3 had full steam functionality so you could log onto steam within the ps3 – trophies unlocked in ps3 version synched with achievements on pc version and vice versa.
I’m guessing Blizzard would want Battle.net on the console and if microsoft won’t even let steam on hell low chance of a fully always on b.net.
However it’s a rumour – however if true that will be the BIGGEST ps3 exclusive. I’m playing Diablo 3 to death atm but i’ll be honest the 6 skills way would work BETTER with a joypad.
KeRaSh
I’ve mapped them to WASD because it feels much more natural than using 1234. Especially if you regularly use Shift and Alt, like I do.
damoxuk
I actually have mapped 123 to my mouses back/forward and middle buttons.
I’m not into using keyboard mouse combo so much anymore with the hunching. :)
KeRaSh
Good idea, although I can’t find the drivers for my mouse anymore which renders these buttons useless anyways…
psychobudgie
Would make sense in that Blizzard normally would want to handle the network side of things themselves. Similar to the Steam integration with the PS3 version of Portal 2.

If Sony announced that at E3 it would be a massive shock. THIS is what I want from an E3 conference. Please Sony, blow my mind!
I could actually see this work with a controller. Gold is already picked up automatically and you could tab through items on the ground with the D-Pad. Movement would be done with the left stick instead of clicking infront of your character, you can aim with the right stick and maybe use some kind of soft autolock feature (L2/R2 to flick between enemies or user the D-Pad again – up/down for items, left/right for enemies). We have enough buttons for the four abilities and shoulder buttons for the main attacks.

That would be a huge win for Sony if true.
Death_In_Flamez
Holy moly……might just stay up for this…

Leaky Ship! Bail Out! :P
Jakster123x
Hmm, that is pretty big if true. Too bad i’m not very interested in Diablo but it’s obviously a massive franchise.
parryman
I’d get it if its move based
Rocket_345
This would be huge to announce if true. I certainly hope so anyway.
