Sony Announce PlayStation Move Racing Wheel

This looks familiar, and whilst I can’t really admit to liking the design much, it’s functional, and it’s coming with stacks of game support, including behemoth Gran Turismo 5.

The wheel boasts the following features:

  • Precise motion tracking for responsive handling of your vehicle
  • An innovative folding grip design will allow you to switch between racing a sports bike to a high-octane supercar
  • Feel the intense vibration feedback of your vehicle as you trade paint with the competition
  • Experience realistic gameplay action using the race car paddle shifters and motorcycle twist throttle controls

It’s coming this year, for around £35, and will work with Gran Turismo 5, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, BurnOut Paradise, MotorStorm Apocalypse and LittleBigPlanet Karting.

  1. Looks clumsy, big, and… £35? May as well have just made a variant of the Move itself…

  2. Is there a list of games which do support it?

    • Yeah, bottom of the article.

      • Wow have no idea how i glazed over that face palm

  3. I’d rather sit in my car and just pretend I’m driving, £35 is insane!

  4. The idea seems great but it seems a little expensive… I’m guessing most people will to see exactly how well it plays… the jury’s out for now tho

  5. Brilliant news….Burnout Paradise online servers are set to continue….4 years on and counting, loving it ;)
In other news I think that my Driving Force GT wheel and pedals are still in a job :P
Actually I do like the look of that gadget, and if it performs better than that plastic frame that you chuck a controller into, transforming it into a racing wheel, then it’d be interesting to try it out.

  6. That seems a bit expensive and holding a steering wheel up all the time because it’s not on a stand sounds tiring for extended sessions.

  7. Looks ok for motorstorm maybe

  8. wow new support for burnout paradise, thats a reason to boot up the game and play it again since i lost my game save

  9. You know what? I think I’ll pass.

  10. Gonna definately get one of these. Better than plain controller in GT5, but without the cumbersome bolt to a tablet aspect of the full-blown wheels.
