We already know that Resident Evil 6 will be a long game.
Capcom believe that the game will clock in at around ‘30 hours‘, which is certainly lengthy for any action game.
It also estimates each story path that has roughly 70-80% of the ‘volume’ in Resident Evil 5. Whether that means content or length is still a mystery, however.
In other news, if you’re happy that Leon Kennedy has returned for another even-numbered Resi title, you have game producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi to thank for that. He was the one to make sure that the floppy haired ex-STARS member came back for another crack at the zombie hordes.
In an interview with Siliconera, Kobayashi said:
“I really like Leon as a character.”
“There wouldn’t be Resident Evil 6 without Leon because he is central to the story.”
Additionally, Leon was described as the ‘main main character’ by another Capcom employee during the same interview, suggesting that a Leon playthrough may well be the best place to start in Resident Evil 6.

Whilst this is good news, it’s a shame that the horro aspect has been killed off. :( And it seems to be the most action oriented Resi game in the franchise. I wonder if Capcom will lock of the entire game then sell us the start button for £20 followed by a super extreme mega hyper undead crazy leather jacket wearing with a chainsaw edition? I may have gone over the top a bit with this. I suspect Chris will be punching cars this time around. Wesker seems to be interesting as it seems to be mostly hand to hand combat. With a dose of the plot virus that the original Wesker used.

I’m happy that Leon is back; I like him as a character. Though I do wish Clare had been brought back as a playable character for this game as opposed to Chris. With him being in 5 and Revelations I’m feeling overexposed to him.
