Timed exclusive DLC is an annoyance when your platform of choice does not have the exclusive deal but we are stuck with it as long as the video game business is about making money. Â Skyrim’s Dawnguard DLC has the backing of Microsoft’s money so it will be seen on the Xbox 360 first.
The first suggestion of when it might arrive there has now appeared with Joystiq reporting that Bethesda’s Todd Howard has told then that “Tentatively, it’s coming on June 26”. Â PC and PS3 players will have to wait another month to get their hands on the vampire-laden download.
Seemingly learning from previous DLC experience, particularly with their Fallout games, Bethesda are running a beta for Dawnguard on the 360, which you can sign up for here. Â There is no word on whether they will be running similar beta programs for the PC and PS3.
Regardless of your Skyrim-playing platform you could always spend some of your time between now and the DLC’s release watching the trailer again.

I’m only 20 hours in Skyrim so personally don’t mind waiting.

I own Skryim for PlayStation and can’t say I’m bothered. Not because I don’t like Skyrim (I think it’s a neat action RPG) but the fact that I’m only 10 or so hours into the main game. DLC just seems like overkill at this stage.

I’ve put in almost 100 hours to Skyrim and got the platinum trophy in the process. More Skyrim is great, but I don’t mind waiting as I’ve loads of other stuff to play at the minute.

Yeah i dropped 100+ hours on Skyrim myself and the time was paid by a shiny plat. Even though the dlc looks cool i don’t think i can muster the motivation to delve back into its world.

Hate exclusive/timed DLC no matter which system it’s on! I’m sure the money could be better used elsewhere! What a waste…..

So we still get it in summer?
Better than I was expecting, to be honest.
Not too pleased with the wait, but it’ll have to do.
Hopefully I’m not studying for repeat exams when this releases.
Although I probably will be. :(

No problem here, still got to finish the existing game on PS3, and the Xbox crowd can work the (expected)bugs out for us all

Started Skyrim earlier this month and currently nearly 70 hours in still a long way to go yet, ive signed up to the beta but don’t know if i’ll play it as i wanna jump straight into Dawnguard as i finish Skyrims main quest.

Have put just shy of 180hrs into Skyrim by now, but I just can’t get enough of it. I don’t mind waiting but if it’s end of July for PS3 owners then that fine by me.

Miles better that the wait for PS3 DLC for Fallout 3. Happy to wait the extra month as still have plenty in Skyrim to keep me busy.
