We’ve been speculating, hoping really, that Naughty Dog’s post-disaster survival adventure would be out in time for Christmas. It won’t, despite looking like much of the hard work is already done.
Not a big shock, seemingly everything is being pushed back until 2013 and The Last of Us hadn’t been properly dated yet anyway. But we’re all relatively sure that holiday season 2013 will be all about the next generation so we’d hoped to see this high point on PlayStation 3 before everyone’s focus was shifting.
In an interview with VG247, which they’re pre-empting with headlines, Yoshida has admitted that 2013 is still going to be a big year for the PlayStation 3.
We are not ready to talk about 2013. But some of the games we showed like God of War and The Last of Us are not coming out this year.
So there you go. Not a big shock but this is the first time anyone involved with the project has narrowed the release date and it is later than we hoped. Looks like the PlayStation 3 is entering its twilight years with a stunning-looking line-up.

While being slightly disappointed that we can’t get our hands on it this year, if it means it’ll be as polished as (or even more than) UC3, then it softens the blow. The E3 demo looked stunning!

Argh, I thought it had already been confirmed for 2012, but it looks like I was wrong! Bioshock, The Last of Us, pretty much everything Microsoft announced…it really is going to be a big year in 2013.

Yeah, i was personally hoping and sort of expecting it was going to be out this year. I have a feeling that Beyond won’t be out until next tear either.

also Ni No Kuni, Metro Last Light not released until 2013, what was initially going to be an over abundance of games in 2012 now seems to be overflowing into 2013.

Makes my budgeting for the rest of 2012 pretty easy I guess. Lollipop Chainsaw, Far Cry 3, DOA5, Resi6, Need for Speed and Hitman. Have I missed anything?

It’s a shame this isn’t being released this year. Was hoping it would be, to tide me over until Beyond: Two Sould and God of War: Ascension are released. Although, 2013 is going to be one hell of a year in gaming, thats for sure.

Aw shucks! I was hoping it would be out this years holiday season (November, for the common folk).
2013 is going to be huge. Could this point towards that the next gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft won’t be out until 2014? Because I see no need for them until then with all these great games coming out next year.

Agreed. With all these great games coming out in 2013, unless they suddenly pull the cheeky move of making a lot of them next-gen titles, I really can’t see many people feeling the need to buy a new console until the year after. Great news for the WiiU I guess lol

Ridiculous amount of games coming out 2013 Q1 if this does too which I assume it will. Last of Us, God of War, Bioshock, and all AAA titles.

It’s a shame but what we all kinda expected. Got enough to buy this year so am not too fussed about this news. Sounds cliche, but could 2013 be the best year gaming has ever had?

Disappointing – I really can’t wait for this game. I was hoping it would be November, as that’s when ND have ‘traditionally’ released their games – at least in this generation.
