Rumour: Black Ops II To Feature “10 Point” Multiplayer Weapon Storage System

According to a rather assured leak over on NeoGAF, Activision’s next Call of Duty game will feature a “10 point” weapon allocation system, which will dramatically change the way loadouts and perks are managed, with many comments suggesting that it’s for the best.

For this year’s Black Ops II, players will find themselves with a limited storage space, which will feature ten empty slots. The system will replace the standard primary / secondary / grenade choices with something akin to that from Resident Evil, with bigger guns taking up more slots.

The leak says that guns, attachments, equipment and perks all take up allocation points. You could – for example – carry two primary weapons and just one perk, or no weapons and lots of perks (and hope to grab something on the battlefield).

We obviously can’t confirm any of this, having not had chance to see the game for ourselves, but it does sound like an interesting take for a franchise that relies so heavily on its multiplayer support. Let’s hope that the community gets behind these sweeping changes.

If, indeed, it’s true.

  1. Too many cooks imo, people say it’s the same every year, that’s the problem, there’s zero consistency, not one bit.
