News Snatch: Overwatch, Frostpunk, And Serious Sam’s Bogus Detour

Right then, more news from down the back of the internet, starting with – dear lord – yet another trailer for Injustice 2.  This trailer reveals… something. I have no idea what as I am sick to death of watching Injustice 2 trailers, go find out for yourselves.

A PC version of de Blob was announced last month by THQ Nordic, but listings on GameFly, spotted by Gematsu, seem to indicate the game will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.

Bayonetta was announced for PC yesterday and judging by the comments section on TSA precisely zero of you cared. Maybe this dev diary will change your mind?

Crossplay between Xbox One and PC players on the Gears of War 4 Core and Competitive playlists is on the way.

Later this year, we will be adding a new ‘Ranked Crossplay’ Toggle for our Xbox One players! Xbox One players will have the choice of playing with or without Windows 10 players in any Core or Competitive Playlist with this toggle – though Social, Competitive Warm Up and Special Events will always be Crossplay enabled regardless. As we want to make sure Windows 10 players can experience any Ranked Playlist, the toggle will not be available on Windows 10.

This is a cinematic trailer for Frostpunk, a new game by the creators of This War of Mine. It’s a shame no gameplay is shown, but the cinematic seems to indicate a huge jump in graphical fidelity compared to 11 bit Studio’s last game.

Become a leader of a steam-powered City, the last bastion of humanity. Oversee your society, manage resources and make difficult, ambiguous choices. But whatever you do, always remember: The City Must Survive.

Frostpunk takes on what people are capable of when pushed to the limits. What interests us is what society do to survive and how it changes in the process. How survival in the end leaves us different beings. If worse, better, stronger, weaker or, last but not least, more or less humane – that is debatable.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is now available via Xbox One backward compatibility, if you like that sort of thing.

Serious Sam’s Bogus Detour
is a new retro take on Croteams franchise. “Our boys in R&D have been looking into ways to take combine this hot wave of so-called indie games with the tried and true Serious Sam profit formula and it looks like they’ve hit a homerun touchdown goal with Serious Sam’s Bogus Detour,” said Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker, with tongue firmly in cheek as usual.

Planet Coaster has been graced with a new free update, which includes three new coasters. Roller coasters that is, not three small mats to put your coffee mug on.

Overwatch is hosting a new event, here is the trailer. Journey seven years into the past and join a group of Overwatch agents fighting through the streets of King’s Row to quell an uprising led by Null Sector, a rogue group of omnics. Blimey!

And Finally, this video was mistakenly put in the TSA news pool, but I’m going to post it anyway. Dawwwww, puppy!

  1. Yet again OW will dominate my life for the next few days/weeks. I must have all
Those skins and I do not want to spend money. So lots of grinding ahead !

  2. The new Overwatch update is excellent by the way. Very good mode and some very nice skins.

  3. Can’t believe I’m moderately tempted to buy back in to Overwatch again, but it’s happened and there’s a rather handsome collector’s edition coming through the post.

Whether it will be any better than what I played a year ago remains to be seen, but there was a certain strange charm about it. I hope to get in to it better this time. Less lag would certainly help.
