Dungeon Defenders On Vita Is Cancelled

Here’s some bad news for Vita owners: Trendy Entertainment has stopped trying to make Dungeon Defenders for the console. Initially shown as a tech demo way back when the Vita was still called the NGP, Dungeon Defenders looked like it was going to be excellent on the platform.

Now, via their official forums, Trendy Entertainment has explained why they’re no longer working on the project.

Many fans, including myself, would like to play Dungeon Defenders on the portable device, but ultimately, we’ve decided to divert those resources to other pursuits. We can’t talk about these at the moment. In fact, you may not hear about these for quite some time. But trust us when we say it’ll be worth the wait

At a time when all eyes are on the Vita’s software line up, this isn’t going to inspire confidence.

  1. It is a shame, I have it on 360 and it would be a great game to play on the move. However, perhaps the thinking was that it has been out on so many formats that they’d be unlikely to sell that many copies – particularly when the Vita is unlikely to be many peoples sole console. If you were interested in it then you probably already own it…
