EA Spoils Its Play4Free Users

If supplying and maintaining some of the industry’s best free-to-play offerings wasn’t enough, for the next seven days EA is also showering its “Play4Free” users with bonus in-game content. Dubbed the “Countdown to Summer” players can fire up this link to claim daily rewards for titles including Battlefield Play4Free, Battlefield Heroes, Lords of Ultima, Need for Speed World, and TSA favourite, Wrath of Heroes.

Today’s free gift is the “Woodland Combat Pack” for Battlefield Play4Free. Not only does it grant players access to a haul of in-game provisions but a new costume loadout and 7-day XP boost too.

Those who play Wrath of Heroes are due for their treat tomorrow. Many will be holding out for a free hero or skin pack, but it will most likely be either a gold/xp boost along with potions and mastery scrolls. Still, it’s nothing to be snorted at considering the recent partnership between Mythic and Raptr. For everything Wrath of Heroes, you can click this nifty little link here.

  1. Started playing Battlefield free to play only last week on my girlfriends very high spec new laptop. Was amazed that it graphically blows away BF3 on my PS3, was really good fun and is nothing like the disappointing BF heroes.

  2. You sure? :-/ I know the frame rate and poor gfx let BF3 down on PS3 but last time I played BF F2P it was like a really bad version of BF2 and there’s no way you’d pay for it! It had really bad low res textures, crap animations and really boring maps. Not tried it for a while though maybe they seriously improved it. As for BF Heroes, that looked like a great idea but when I was in the BETA it was virtually unplayable and about as fun as falling down the stairs. Don’t get me wring i love DICE and BF1943 was f***king ace and deserves more love on console (and of course a PC release!!) but it seems F2P is the way to go for PC games and some games are looking amazing. Check out Planetside 2…It was named Game of E3 and looks breathtaking…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBCp_rgAkfc

    • PlanetSide 2 is definitely top dog thanks to that new Forge Light engine, it looks superb.

No doubt I’ll have to play it on medium settings due to my slightly outdated build however.

  3. Can’t argue with free stuff.
