Everyone was present for this week’s podcast. Well, not everyone, that would be quite tricky to listen to. But all four podcast regulars were there.
We kick off as usual, by discussing some of the news stories from the week. The Dredd trailer is discussed, as is the trailer for Django Unchained. Then we spend some time talking about Microsoft’s Surface tablet and the leaked documents surrounding the next Xbox.
I was made to relive my horrendous experiences with Steel Battalion before Kris read out an extremely explicit email I sent him during the review process. Following the disappointment of Steel Battalion, Kev raises the enthusiasm levels again by talking about The Raid, an Indonesian action movie that sounds like it’s 90 per cent martial arts action and gruesome stabbings. Lewis’ discussion of The Inkeepers didn’t feature so much stabbing but did have some revelation in the form of Kelly MacGillis not being immune to the passage of time.
Kris talked a bit about The Massive by Brian Wood before we had our quiz and took our usual listener’s questions (or discussion points, apparently).

with my question, i meant for the second or third time of asking.
anyway, one of my favourite literary characters has to be Marvin from the Hitchhikers Guide books.
he’s such a tragic figure you can’t help but feel for him.
by the end he’s 37 times older than the universe, and almost every part of his body has been replaced, except for all the diodes down his right side.
Sherlock Holmes is a great character, and i love the recent films and bbc tv series, but i’ve never actually read any of the books, so i don’t know if i could choose him.
also, i got a perfect score on the quiz. ^_^
even the bonus parts of the questions.
i only knew the answer to the the last question because i’ve recently been watching the Transformer lovingly reviewed podcast, where this guy Ron Aalgar Watt points out all the stupid things that happen in the episodes, and how bad a leader Optimus was.
it’s pretty funny.
i remember seeing Robot Jox years ago, great film.
made with stop motion rather than cgi as it would be today.
