Despite the developers claiming that there’s no GRID 2 in development, the latest Official Xbox Magazine says otherwise.
Not that there’s a huge amount of information yet.
“The GRID team at Codemasters is actively working on GRID 2,” states the mag within the rumours section. “It’s likely to arrive after the release of F1 2012.”
There’s been nothing official yet from Codemasters apart from one Tweet from someone on the team acknowledging the story. F1 will no doubt release as winter approaches, so there’s a slim chance that GRID 2 might be out this calendar year.
The first GRID game was brilliant, so I’m very happy about this news.

I can see them skipping DiRT next year and releasing GRID2, it wouldn’t make sense to release 2 racing games in Q4 this year.

Releasing Grid and Dirt bi-yearly would make sense as they’ve got the F1 licence for a while.

Do Codies still have the BTCC licence?
Black Bean had the WTCC licence for the Superstars games.
Codies had the BTCC licence, but haven’t a clue who has which licence these days :/
Anyway it’ll be a day one for me…been waiting a long time for Grid 2 ;)
