Activision Leeds Working On Mobile Call Of Duty Games

According to reports from Andy Payne, chairman of UKIE, Activision have their Leeds studio working on mobile Call of Duty games.

“Activision are like a machine,” said Payne. “I have to be careful what I say about these guys because I know them so well and they’ll cane me.

“They’re very good, and you know what, what people don’t realise with Activision is, the two studios working on the Call of Duty franchise are collaborative studios. That’s unheard of. All the assets are reusable, so they’re not wasting time.

“The two studios are saying, ‘I need a tank, pull it off from the library’. And those assets are also going to be starting to be used by the mobile team, which is going to be based in Leeds.”

The Leeds studio was established in November 2011, although their projects were secret until, well, now. It’s not known whether Vita title Declassified is one of Leeds’ games.

  1. So Vita game will probably be a port of some ipad fPS but 10 times higher price…

    • …& will have buttons to use.

      • Well that sucks! This could’ve been such a great opportunity for CoD on PS Vita, rather than a port, but I’m keeping my hopes up. ;)
*Please Don’t Let Me Down Activision Leeds*

  2. I’m not a fan of mobile gaming, for me, gaming will always be about consoles. A TV, a controller, a disc and a console. All you need.

  3. Leeds. The home of portable spin-offs

  4. Call on Hold: Mobile Network

I think this will probably be pony

    • Thanks, I spat tea on my monitor and a little dribbled out my nose

      • Ha – I couldn’t think of anything phone related begining with “W” to replace Warfare. Shame.

      • Modern Wap.

      • In fact, Modern Wap-fare kinda works.

      • Forrest, where were you when I needed you, eh?

        Or maybe “Wireless”.

      • Sorry, i missed the ‘F-man’ signal in the air. If i had have seen it, i would have jumped in the ‘F-mobile’ & been here in a flash. :)

        Modern Wifi also kinda works.

      • I shall remember that for next time ;)

  5. Well that’s interesting as my mate is still working on COD zombies for iOS.

    • .. or not, as he just told me. “Rats leaving sinking ship” :)

  6. Phone Call of Duty?

  7. is it not typical? Western developers care less of handhelds so its no wonder they’ll do this shit.

  8. not interested in any anti cod fan comments but personally if I can play cod online on the train or whilst I’m sat next to pool in Vegas or on my lunch break then bring it on and blops on vita!!
