During the weekend, Kotaku received a note from Gamestop employees that was originally passed onto them via Assassin’s Creed publisher, Ubisoft. Congratulating staff for their efforts to drive AC3 pre-orders, the note (which has yet to be confirmed as genuine) also outlines plans for future content following the game’s launch in later October.
Allegedly, Ubisoft has devised a “complementary development” team who are already beavering away at post-launch content. There’s no word on whether this will extend the singleplayer campaign or the growingly-popular online multiplayer, though we suspect both.
If the memo is proven to be legitimate, it appears that Ubisoft will also be offering fans a “seasons pass”. For those who aren’t aware of this latest trend in peddling DLC, passes offer users the chance to pre-purchase most (or all) future DLC at a discounted price. Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3, and Max Payne 3 are just three games to adopt such a scheme.
