Dean Richards, Head of Development for EA’s NHL franchise, has skated on to the Gamescom EA stage in full hockey gear to discuss NHL 13. The title is set to be the “Biggest leap for the franchise.”
NHL 13 will have a complete gameplay overhaul, with real world physics, 1000 new skating animations and a true performance skating engine. As well as the gameplay overhaul, NHL 13 will be one of the biggest connected games with a Dynasty mode which will allow 750 players to play together in a 30 team multi dynasty, where players can control everyone from the team coach to individual players. There will also be five European leagues with 66 teams from across the continent.
The NHL 13 demo will release on PS3 and Xbox 360 next week. The release date is September 13th and it will be available to pre order on Origin, as well as traditional retailers.

i’d have thought they’d have been better demoing this at E3, that’s where ice hockey’s big.
is it big in europe?

Hockey is huge in certain parts of Europe, The German DEL is a high quality league.
Gutted the british game has gone rapidly downhill in the last 15-20 years.
I wasn’t planning on getting this as there was virtually no diference between 2010 and 2011 so i missed 2012, will try the demo now.

Sounds fantastic. Can’t wait for the demo and I’m tempted to put down a pre-order now too. Especially as Giroux is the cover star this year! :)
