UK Games Charts: 5/11/12 – Assassin’s Need for Speed

Assassin’s Creed III has broken records for Ubisoft. It’s their best opening week of sales by some distance, beating their previous best (Revelations) and almost doubling the opening sales of Assassin’s Creed II.

The AC3 launch becomes the second largest of the year so far, behind FIFA 13 but with Halo 4 and Black Ops II out over this next week, we’d expect that record to need rewritten quite soon. AC: Liberation on the Vita is doing reasonably well, considering the performance of Vita titles throughout this year. It’s in fourteenth spot, making it the third biggest Vita launch behind Uncharted and FIFA Football.

WWE 13 seems to be doing well for THQ, too. The wrestling franchise gorilla presses Football Manager 2013 into fourth place, although the management simulation will be selling a significant number of units as downloads which aren’t included in these figures.

Need for Speed Most Wanted manages to come home in fifth, edging ahead of its racing rival, Forza Horizon, in seventh. Those two quality racers are separated by a poor quality shooter, EA’s Medal of Honor: Warfighter clinging on to sixth position despite a frosty response from critics.

  1. Most Wanted seems to have got a mixed bag of reviews so its good to see it up near the top. It looks like full blown, within wedlock, born out of love Burnout/Hot Pursuit sprog, which is brilliant, but has anyone here played it yet to confirm its potential awesomeness? Oh and is there a TSA review coming?

    • Yep, it’s luvverly. Exactly like Burnout & NFS had a wikkle baby.

I mentioned some issues with Autolog in the forum, but that’s a relatively small niggle (& may be restricted to only a handful of players) & doesn’t reallt detract from what i think is a great game.

Somewhere between a sim & an arcade racer, although leaning much more heavily to the arcade side of things (which it would have to, as I hate sims!).

      • My post was meant to be a reply also I pressed log in to reply but it didn’t post as a reply lol oh well. :)

      • it’s pure arcade (not that that’s a bad thing though)

its averaging 8.5’s (same as ac3) so i’d expect it to be really good, i’m very much looking forward to playing it.

  2. I’ve been enjoying the fantastic Most Wanted all weekend both the single player and multiplayer I loved the original and Hot pursuit and Burnout so it was a no brainer for me an Most Wanted is exactly what I wanted it is Most Wanted but you can really see and hear the Burnout in it with somewhere inbetween handling. I’d say if you’ve ever enjoyed a NFS game or Burnout give it a try I do not think you’d regret it QUALITY GAME and ideal for some TSA meet lovin.

  3. Why isn’t Farm Simulator 2013 at top?

    • People must be waiting for the GOTY edition…
