In perhaps the least surprising news of the week, the UK charts have stayed pretty much the same in the top five, and there’s minimal change in the top ten aside from a couple of titles jumping up several spaces. We really need to get on those new retail releases soon.
FIFA 14 takes the number one spot, while Call of Duty: Ghosts remains just behind in second place, with Battlefield 4 and Assassin’s Creed IV doing a little swap between third and fourth. Grand Theft Auto V sits at number five yet again.
Things get a bit more interesting after the top five, and after LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and Need For Speed Rivals swap numbers at sixth and seventh, where Killzone Shadow Fall nabs the eighth spot, jumping up from 14. Unfortunately, Aliens: Colonial Marines does much the same, going from 15th to 10th.
Dead Island: Riptide and NBA 2K14 re-enter the chart at 16 and 19 respectively, but aside from that there’s no new entries or anything exciting at all. January is boring.

Don’t get how GT6 has seen such mediocre positioning in the charts since release, it’s been riding high and still is in both the Shopto and Amazon (uk) best seller lists, both as the solus game and PS3/GT6 bundle.
*confused emoticon*

PS4, that’s why it the first GT game I haven’t got it at launch.

Im hoping its more to do with gamers turning their noses up at the microtransactions. Doubt it though.

the thing is, with ACM, it’s selling loads, but the supermarkets re selling it for a fiver, so it can’t be making much money.
small consolation i know.
and in the interest of transparency, i have to admit i bought the game not once, but twice.
the limited edition in Asda for a fiver, and the special edition, with the power loader figure, in game.
so i may be partly responsible for it’s position.
though that was a couple of weeks ago, so now i think about it, this increase in it’s position on the charts has nothing to do with me.
that’s actually quite a relief. ^_^
i still want to get Arkham Origins at some point.
ooh, i just saw a trilogy set in Game.

all three games, for only a fiver more than Origins on its own.
tempting. >_>

Killzone’s doing well still, highest placed exclusive next gen title. Guess that’s to do with the bundle though considering XBOX One’s most sold bundle is probably Fifa and that’s cross platform.
Be nice in a few months when there are some different titles in there! Can’t see it changing much for a month or two.

STOP BUYING ALIENS IT IS CRAP!!

Don’t listen to him, keep buying it! As long as it keeps selling Sega will be reluctant to let Sony put it on PS Plus. lol
Bilbo_bobbins
Its depressing seeing the same old games up the top still.

Slim pickings indeed for January. I can’t help but feel that they could have delayed the Tomb Raider revamp for another while, especially seeing as the ‘old’ version is still selling well.

I wonder how many copies of Aliens were made. Maybe its going to be the next E.T.
