GTA: Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition Hits December 6th

The updated, tweaked and generally better GTA: Vice City will land on December 6th, priced at $4.99.

As it was with the 10th Anniversary Edition of GTA III, this remixed version of Vice City will feature higher resolution graphics, better character models, enhanced lighting and “more precise firing and targeting”, with customisable control layouts.

[videoyoutube]It’ll work on iOS devices from the iPhone 4 upwards (including all iPads) and a huge array of Android devices, because every manufacturer on the planet apparently has at least six.

Android Phones: Motorola Razr, Razr Maxx, Razr Maxx HD, Motorola Atrix, Motorola Photon, Motorola Droid Bionic, HTC Rezound, HTC One X, HTC One S, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Sensation, HTC Droid Incredible 2, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy Note 1 & 2, Samsung S2, Samsung Galaxy R, Sony Xperia Play, Sony Xperia S, P, T & TL, Sony Walkman Z Series Media Player, Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Galaxy S3, Google Nexus 4.

And in terms of Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, LG Optimus Pad, Medion Lifetab, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 / 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Sony Tablet P, Toshiba Thrive, HTC Flyer, Google Nexus 7, Google Nexus 10.

Vice City, released in 2002, was a superb update to III, with a cool 80’s vibe and stacks of music, and it’s the preferred GTA of many players. The original trailer is above.

  1. Love Vice City but I just can’t play GTA games through touchscreen.
    I’ll give this a miss.

  2. Hugely exciting. GTAIII-AE was very playable on the iPad, and Vice City is my favourite entry in the series. Can’t wait.

  3. Didn’t like GTA III on iPad.

Still, Vice City is the only GTA I’ve really enjoyed…

I’ll probably pick it up when it drops below a euro.

  4. Day one purchase. Wished it was out this week as I could’ve played this on my holiday. Oh well.

  5. I just couldn’t get to grips with GTA on my tablet. I keep meaning to set my PS3 controller up with it so I can give it a proper go but never seem to get round to it

  6. Colour me pleasantly surprised, I didn’t expect the nexus 4 to be supported at launch, may well pick this up.

    • Same with the Nexus 10. It’ll be interesting to see how it scales on the high res screen.

  7. Bought GTA 3 during a sale and haven’t played it at all. Will probably end up doing the same with VC just because it is supported on both my phone and tablet. At least I only have to buy it once…

  8. Nexus 7 + wired 360 controller plugged in the side = JOY!

I’d still quite a Vita release of this though, please Rockstar.

    • I would absolutely lap up a vita release, I’ve also been craving San Andreas since the gta5 publicity has started ramping up.

  9. Now here’s hoping for SA in 2 years time!
