Bargain Weekend #4 – Dishonored, PSASBR & Forza

America’s famous Black Friday sales have gained traction worldwide in recent years, thanks to the proliferation of digital stores and other online retailers wanting to take advantage of the increased traffic.

This year is no exception with flash sales happening all over. Below is just a quick selection of some of the best deals available.

One of the big release of retail’s golden quarter is available for just £21.49 from GAME online here and if you can’t wait for delivery I have had it confirmed it is a national deal through GAME’s network of branches too, but as usual it may be wise to call and check availability first.

We loved Dishonored when we reviewed it praising it for the variety of ways you can approach each scenario and the longevity added by being able to play through in multiple ways, even after completing the game.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

Sony’s latest release gets some keen pricing courtesy of  Tesco, coming in at £27.99 for the PS3 version, which also includes a redemption for the PS Vita. We reviewed the game earlier in the week, awarding it 9/10 and stating that “It’s a complete package with a few flaws, but ultimately a brilliant purchase for both PlayStation and fighting fans”.

Forza Horizon

At £24.99, Zavvi have a fantastic price on one of the the Xbox 360’s biggest releases this year. Forza Horizon takes the action to the open world and puts a spotlight on speed, style, and freedom.

[/accordion] [accordion title=”PC, Mac & Linux”] Over on Steam it’s the autumn sale so it would be almost quicker to list what isn’t a bargain. Deals are appearing at 6pm everyday with offers held for 48 hours. In between those major updates are ‘flash deals’ with even more titles slashed in price, although these are typically only around for a few hours. Highlights include:

  • Max Payne 3 – £7.49 (Until 6pm GMT)
  • Portal + Portal 2 – £4.49
  • Defence Grid – £1.74 or with DLC bundle – £2.99

[/accordion] [accordion title=”Android & iOS”] Need For Speed: Most Wanted – Android & iOS

One’ of EA’s biggest mobile releases is discounted from £4.99 to £3.59 on Android and £2.99 on iOS.

Shadowgun – Android

Madfinger Games’ rather gorgeous 3rd person shooter Shadowgun and the Tegra3 optimised Shadowgun THD have been reduced to 76p.

Death Worm – Android

Eat people, animals and birds, blow up cars and tanks, bring down planes and helicopters, defeat the army and even the aliens. All of this is reduced from £1.79 to just 62p, and a ten level free demo version is also available if you’re unsure this highly rated titles is for you.

Samurai II: Vengeance – Android

Samurai II sends Daisuke on a quest for revenge across the war-scorched countryside. From a seafaring village to a flying fortress to the legendary Isle of the Dead, the samurai will stop at nothing to hunt down his arch-enemy Orochi. Will he get his Vengeance? Who knows, but you can find out for much less as Samurai II: Vengeance and the Tegra 3 optimised Samurai II: Vengeance THD are available for 76p this weekend.

EA, SEGA & Gameloft titles are receiving heavy discounting on iOS, but thanks to Apple’s focus on iTunes and the App Store app it’s rather difficult to link directly to non-US versions of these apps. However, everything from Mirror’s Edge to Scrabble and Plants Vs Zombies to Real Racing 2 is massively reduced. SEGA have titles like Crazy Taxy, Virtua Tennis and the amazing Chu Chu Rocket available for mere pennies too.
