Resident Evil Revelations Confirmed For PS3, 360 And Wii U

The rumours and leaks have come to their inevitable conclusions: Capcom has just confirmed that Resident Evil: Revelations will indeed be coming to the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U (and PC, if you’re counting). It’ll be a fully fledged retail release, and will land on May 24th in Europe.

It’ll also, predictably, be a digital download across all formats. The price is £40.

“Complete with high quality HD visuals, enhanced lighting effects and an immersive sound experience, the fear that was originally brought to players in Resident Evil Revelations on the Nintendo 3DS system returns redefined for home consoles,” says the rather excitable press release.

The PR also confirms that there’ll be new content for the consoles. A new enemy, an extra difficulty mode and improvements to the game’s Raid Mode such as new weapons, skill sets and the opportunity to play as Hunk and other characters from the series.

The game is set between Resident Evils 4 and 5 and is set, initially at least, on board a cruise ship.

  1. Why can’t they do they same with Monster Hunter, they’d be swimming with cash… (well in Japan)

  2. Huh, for what I assume will just be a HD-em-up of the original I wasn’t expecting £40…

  3. Hmm, not liking the price but loving the fact its coming to HD consoles with new content.

  4. This game was without a doubt the best Resident evil game released last year, i’ll eventually pick it up but not for £40.

  5. For only £40 or more, you can look at Jill’s arse in HD! Disclaimer:We are not responsible for any slapping by your woman or being made to sleep on the counch.

I wonder if they will make the same spelling mistake as they did with the original version? Wonder if it will be a decent HD port or a repeat of Resi 4?

    • Given the additional content I’m HOPING they’ve sat down anddone a better job of it.
      *snigger* Revelaitons…

  6. No Vita port. FFS.

    • The only reason I read the article, given that this game was pretty much confirmed by rumour.

I can’t believe how sidelined Sony’s console is, especially when RE:R seems like a better fit on the Vita than it ever was on the 3DS.

  7. Vita?

  8. This game looks great, my sister has it for her 3DS and I’m jealous.

But why isn’t it coming to Vita? It even has the touchscreen, FFS!

  9. No Vita, no sale.

    • The same words as in actual fact used in a Sony Conference :P

  10. A few really odd decisions here – to make it a digital download but charge £40, when it’s a port of a portable title (and the previous HD Resi’s came out at £19.99 I think). And also to miss out on porting it to the Vita when it would seem to be a perfect fit… But then Capcom have never been the most sensible of companies.
