Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Story DLC Lands Next Month

Hold on to your copies of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance as there’s two new pieces of story-focussed downloadable content coming next month. Although the VR mission DLC just released – £1.99 over here, or free if you’re in the US – there’s still plenty of content to come.

These DLC packs take the form of two side stories, the first of which features Raiden’s foe Jetstream Sam as a playable character expanding his backstory and the second letting players see things from Blade Wolf’s perspective with his own story.

It’s an interesting and truly Metal Gear move, allowing you to play as the villain and a cyborg wolf and it’s the first time a Metal Gear game has had story DLC – yet another way to set it apart from previous titles. Each DLC pack promises “multiple hours of gameplay” with “unique abilities and characteristics for each character” and will cost $6.99. So that’s about a fiver for each, which is a decent price if you want more of Revengeance.

We recently explored if Rising could ever match up to the Solid titles, or if it was ever necessary at all, now that the dust has settled on the game, so that might tide you over while your VR missions download. If that doesn’t interest you, why not watch the VR missions trailer below?
