Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 The Movie Announced

The COD flavoured countdown I covered in Snatch a few days ago has expired and the teaser site has not, as expected, brought us news of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

Well, it has, but just not in the format we were expecting. The site now hosts a trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 – The Movie which has a release date of October 11th 2013.

When the teaser site was located other sites said the domain was linked to Infinity Ward – I have just checked myself and this is the case so it looks like this is official.

As Activision have said they would never make a movie of the franchise it looks like this is a promotional movie rather than a full blown cinema release.

Still, the MW4 logo is rather snazzy isn’t it?

  1. So will this movie thing be like MW3’s vet and noob promotional trailers?

    • More like the 20 min mini movie that came with the last Ghost Recon.

      • ahh I see, just youtubed that, must of missed it when it released.

  2. Modern Four-Ware!

Um, this has an ESRB rating so it’s game promo.

    • Modern Tupper-Ware.

    • Modern PHWOAR Fare!

      S’got girls innit, aint it?

  3. Graphics are rubbish, needs a new engine…..

  4. So they’ve announced this before the actual MW4 game.

    • No this is the game. Lets see how shouty and sweary those fucktards from the COD championships are when they are being shot with actual bullets.

  5. I’m pretty sure this was confirmed as fake by Activision. Plus the quality kind of seems like a fan film. a high budget fan film mind you, but fan film never the less.

    • seems like it to me too…. poor quality for a full fledged, high budget thing.

    • If it is fake, then why is it on a website owned by Infinity Ward, as proved by TC’s who.is link?

      • Exactamundo.

      • If it’s real then why did they use footage from a short film called “Occupation” then edit/add some MW4 titles & Ghost?

        http://www.jeffchan.tv/#!__occupation

Couldn’t anyone create a site and enter owner as IW?

      • interesting.
if it is official, maybe that occupation thing fit with what they wanted to do with the next COD so they hired the guy who made the original and gave him a budget to make a longer version to promote the game.

or it could just be a fake. ^_^

      • Very true Oceanic, it could just be a troll praying on the fact many COD leaks and rumours start up this time of year. Another point is that the YouTube video isn’t hosted under the official CallofDuty channel, as most videos are.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

      • Jeff Chan is also the guy who made this film, hence the link.

Slightly dubious as to why F would use a Gmail address tho on the whois.

I expect Activision will release a statement v soon if it is fake

  6. Did I spot Ghost at 1.27 in the video? Certainly looked like him with the face mask and headset. Would love a game focused on him as the protagonist!

  7. Needs more Hanz Zimmer.

  8. “Still, the MW4 logo is rather snazzy isn’t it?”

    No.

  9. Can’t help but this Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 might cause some brand confusion…

    • That sentence has caused me confusion :p

  10. I thought somebody already made a Call Of Duty film. Something called Acts of Valour?

    • That was Tom Clancy and a load of former US Navy Seals, nothing to do with COD. Good film though!
