Telltale’s The Walking Dead videogame is available for almost every other platform so it’s not a huge surprise to see the announcement that it would be arriving on the PlayStation Vita. That said, this is a nice little boost for Sony’s portable which will see it host to what was many people’s game of the year last year when it was released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and iOS.
There’s no release window just yet, and the structure of the release has not yet been confirmed either. It doesn’t make much sense to release this over a period of months though, as it was on the other platforms, but perhaps a weekly schedule would be a bit of fun and keep it fresh at the forefront of Vita owner’s minds for the duration of its schedule.
This must also be a good sign for season 2 of the zombie-filled adventure landing on Vita too, when that’s ready for release this autumn.
The good news doesn’t stop there though. Don Mesa, who is PlayStation’s Director of Product Planning and Platform Software Innovation, revealed to IGN that there were more than 100 new titles arriving on PlayStation Vita in 2013.
That number of course includes the host of stand-out indie titles already announced – Thomas Was Alone, Lone Survivor, Frozen Synapse and Hotline Miami – but Mesa also promised that it would include some bigger games too, and that Sony’s first party teams were hard at work for the burgeoning platform.

They took their time to bring the walking dead to the vita! But hope they sell it as a bundle rather than per episode.
Good to see the vita getting some love but out of those 100 games being developed, how many are coming Europe & the rest if the world that ain’t Japan

Nice. I should be getting a Vita soon, and I think it will be a good purchase. There are quite a decent amount of good games on the system so far, as well as a few big games that are coming up for the system. This news only boosts my enthusiasm, and when coupled with the fact that the Vita will be a good companion to the PS4, it looks like a bright future for the Vita.
