Dinosaurs, A Volcano, And More Zombies In Black Ops 2’s “Uprising”

Treyarch and Activision have confirmed that the latest Black Ops 2 map pack, Uprising, will release on Xbox Live on 16th April.

The pack includes four multiplayer maps: Magma is designed for a mix of close and ranged encounters and is set at the base of an erupting volcano, Encore is set in an outdoor arena (similar to the concert stage of Left 4 Dead 2’s Dark Carnival), Vertigo is set on a skyscraper rooftop, and Studio – a re-imagining of the original Black Ops’ Firing Range map as a Hollywood backlot.

There’s also a new zombie campaign – Mob of the Dead – which sees Ray Liotta, Michael Madsen, Joey Pantoliano and Chazz Palminteri (seriously) fending off waves of the undead in prohibition-era Alcatraz.

The pack releases later this month on Xbox Live, so you can expect to see it on PS3 and PC around mid-May. There’s more information (and plenty of gameplay footage) in the announcement video below.

(The dinosaurs are in Studio, in case you were wondering.)

  1. Boo!

I saw dinosaurs and was halfway to ordering Black Ops 2 from Amazon before I realised that they didn’t actually put dinosaurs into Call of Duty.

  2. As usual, can’t give a damn about the maps, but the zombie map sounds interesting and is always fun!

  3. Get in there. Looks so damn good.

Got to round 30 on Die Rise instantly. Going to try and beat that before this comes out.

    • Instantly, wtf, I meant recently :/

  4. looks quite good like the look of the re imagining of firing range one of the best maps on blops.

  5. How exciting.
