As we reported yesterday, the Vita will be getting configurable folders soon. How soon? This week, according to Japanese magazine Dengeki, via Gematsu. The current source is a Japanese blog, but any mistranslation is unlikely at this stage, and we’re 100% sure this happening.
The options will appear as part of firmware 2.10, which will also introduce web video streaming, although it’s not clear which video formats that’ll apply to.
Folders will allow up to 10 applications or games inside each (regardless of their filesize) and users can name the folders whatever they’d like. Apparently the icons are to be shrunk down a little too generally, creating a little more space between each of them.
Expect an official post soon from PlayStation.

Great news. The sooner the better on all fronts.

Sounds good. Hopefully this means browser-based YouTube support.

Minor but pleasing update. It’s often the little things that matter and any improvement to the UI is always welcome.

Good stuff. Not a massive update but pretty welcome all the same.

Looking forward to this, I also hope the app layout is saved, so that when you swap memory cards you don’t get the jumbled mess of apps that you need to re arrange everytime!

This too. Very frustrating, but i think that was also one of the things mentioned before that might be changed soon.

Good update. Been waiting on them adding folders.
Judging by the moaning faced gits on the PS Blog page, you’d think Sony had just sent them a shit in a box.
