Whilst Amazon isn’t the first online retailer to start pre-orders for Sony’s PlayStation 4, overnight they put up their own official pre-order page, with an asking price of £600.
Naturally that’s a placeholder price – Sony would be crazy to think people are going to get three jobs to pay for one – but it does start the ball rolling.
Naturally, Amazon will charge you the lower price if (and when) the price drops.
The PS4 is currently number one in the top 100 PC and video game pre-order charts, with Microsoft’s Xbox One – the subject of considerable PR backlash since last week – in second.
PS4 is due out in the UK later this year. Sony will officially reveal the console in just under two weeks time in Los Angeles. We’ll be there in force.

Wow that’s a crazy price but yeah it’s obviously just a placeholder. I can dream but I’m hoping for nearer the £300 mark to make it an instant buy.

Well, since they offer price protection for pre orders, they would be stupid to price it at the anticipated 400€/$/Pounds in case Sony does ask for more.

Would prefer order from Amazon as they are the only company I trust when it comes to delivery.
I will be trading my PS3 towards whichever next-gen console I get though, so Blockbuster will probably get my pre-order.

I’ll probably be working so I’ll go with Tesco, Sainsbury’s or Asda on my way home depending on who’s got the better deal although they’ll probably all be similar.

The Xbox ONE is £599.99 to on Amazon LoL:D God i would LAUGH so hard if the Xbox ONE is over £400 or costs more than the PS4 :D Anyway that is not the price of both anyway as it says on Amazon, thank GOD.

Realistically the X1 could have a higher price tag than PS4. The Kinect in every box will no doubt push prices up.
