Ghost Recon Dev Working On Unannounced Next-Gen Title

Ubisoft studio, Red Storm Entertainment, is currently working on a next-generation title for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

This latest break comes from the updated online resumé of Senior Character Artist, Brian Spencer. Having worked on a small anthology of Tom Clancy games in the past, Spencer’s latest addition to a growing list of so-called AAA titles is simply marked as an “Unannounced Project” – and listed for both next-gen formats.

Though it’s safe to assume that the Tom Clancy trinity (Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six) will make its next-gen debut somewhere down the line, this next project could be something completely new for Red Storm.

On the other hand, it may be a port of the studio’s upcoming tactical shooter, Rainbow Six: Patriots. Other Ubisoft titles, such as Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, are also launching towards the end of the current console cycle and, as a result, are going “cross-gen”. In other words, they will be published on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One simultaneously.

With Rainbow Six in dire need of exposure, and Ubisoft’s penchant for experimentation, the summary above doesn’t sound too far-fetched. Either way, we’re sure to find out more next week as E3 looms ever nearer.

  1. I thought it had been confirmed months ago that R6 was being pushed back to next-gen? Either way, Rainbow Six on XboxOne sounds awesome to me :D

  2. I love Ghost Recon with co-op and multiplayer!
Cannot wait for Rainbow Six: Patriot as the trailer was awesome but again that was last year =/
Ubisoft are busy bees with so many titles towards Playstation 4 and Xbox One….. loads of goodies on UPlay (That still active?)

  3. It better be a sequel to Future Soldier. One of the greatest tactical shooters of this generation and a multiplayer mode that provides so much blessed relief from the hyper, twitchy, teen-drenched CoD experience.

‘Oh hello Mr 14-Year-Old-Rusher-Dude. Are you all alone on my side of the map, trying to kill whore? TASTE MY TASER! And now my whole team can see your whole team. Glorious.’

    • Played Future Soldier with Teflon and it was a cracking bit of fun. Hopefully, if it’s more of this then we’ll have four of us for co-op instead of two humans and two “where the hell do you think you’re going? What’s he doing? What the? He’s going to get us notic…. ah shit!” A.I. :-)

      • I absolutely love the competitive MP. Most fun I’ve had this generation. Three classes that were superbly balanced and had excellent synergy, a huge range of combat options and gameplay that genuinely rewarded strategy and tactics over raw reaction time. I really want a next gen sequel.

  4. Surely unless its been canned there should be some news on Rainbow Six at E3 seeming there was a trailer about a year a go. I need to go on a next generation terrorist hunt! Best Co-op Ever – FACT!
