New Assassin’s Creed Gameplay Demo

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, as you’ll probably know, is heading to current and next-gen consoles later this year. We saw some decent trailers at Ubisoft’s conference earlier, but they’ve taken to the Sony stage for a live gameplay demo.

There were some technical hitches – it stopped working towards the end and was abruptly cut off, but the game looks really great. It’s more Pirates Creed than Assassin’s Creed, but we can forgive that.

  1. I think it goes to show how much Ubi are milking the franchise sadly – there were multiple freezes in the demo. I know it’s nowhere near finished, but their clearly rushing it. Just minutes later, they played Watch Dogs absolutely flawlessly.
Don’t get me wrong, the game still looks great, but it’s painful to see Ubisoft destroying one of my favourite franchises from this gen.

    • Yeah i thought the exact same thing when it came to the freezing, Watch Dogs ran perfectly and looked stunning and at least it wasn’t like the Battlefield 4 demo where they had to wait for video in the xbox one to rewind lol sorry couldn’t help myself, the only other slight hiccup i saw was the quick freeze in Destiny but then that run smoothly afterwards,im sure everything will be hunky dory come launch.

  2. Can’t wait for this but there’s no way i’m buying another AC game on day one after AC3. There were so many glitches in that game. I’d rather wait a few months (several patches later) when the game is actually finished before i buy it. Plus, it’ll be cheaper too.

  3. Have to say, wasn’t all that impressed by what was on show. Looks like a re-skinned AC3.

With that said I wasn’t too big on AC3 but it eventually grew on me.

  4. Why can’t they just make a new IP with pirates? I love pirates, but it’s not AC for me. And this feels rushed and milked close to death. I’ll pass.

  5. Having never played an Assassin’s Creed game before, I’m not exactly qualified to offer an opinion, but it looked OK to me (minus the freezes).
