Podcast: Episode 103 – Rezzed and Company of Heroes 2

This week’s podcast is a rather cut down affair. With Peter, Kev and Lewis all away it was time to call in the re-enforcements, this week in the form of Teflon and friend of the site, Vaughn Highfield.

You may have seen Teflon’s Company of Heroes 2 review on last week, and if you’d like more of his thoughts on the game then the podcast is well worth a listen. As well as that, Vaughn reports to us on what he got up to at the recent Rezzed expo in Birmingham, sharing his opinion on some of the problems he feels the show has.

While we do have our regular round up of the news this week, unfortunately there’s no quiz, and we couldn’t find any listener questions to answer. If you’d like to hear our thoughts on any specific topics, or just to hear us answer whatever bizarre question you have, then it’d be lovely if you submitted them via one of the methods below.

  • Please send us questions via email to podcasts[at]thesixthaxis.com.
  • You can also tag your questions on Twitter with #tsacast and, provided you’re not on a private account, we’ll see them in our search each week. Finally, as usual, there’s a questions thread in the forum.

This podcast features strong language, jokes in poor taste and adult themes, if you’re offended by that then we recommend that you don’t listen to it at all.

  • As usual, you can grab the MP3 file here (right click to download).
  • You might want to get it (when the RSS catches us) on the RSS feed, here.
  • Or we’re on iTunes, when iTunes feels like updating. You can also leave us a review and subscribe there, if you want to be particularly lovely.

  1. Vaughn? Vaughn?! VAUGHN?!

I still can’t believe Sony released such a buggy firmware. I was really scared for a moment when I first about it. I was relieved that my automatic update was not active since I shut of the power to my Ps3.

Banning games are quite stupid if you ask me. The few times that it happens it only seem to boost sales for that region/country. Postal 2 anyone?

Locking the camera In a more distant view like Knack might seem weird at first. What about the much closer camera that follows you around so close, you sometimes end up looking at a wall while trying to fight enemies, looking at you Deadpool!

I have a few friends that play Company of Heroes 2. The always seem to praise it and tell me to get it. But at the same time I don’t want to because when they play there seem to be a lot of swearing about cheaters and unbalanced units, really putts me of. In my opinion, most RTS games have been very off-putting for the past 7-8 years. The last RTS game that I played like a maniac was C&C Generals.

I would appreciate a blow job whilst hacking into a bank. To bad I don’t know how to hack a bank, guess the blow job is out of the question to then. :(

I never get into games that are released with a one year gap. My brain defaults to thinking those games are generally bad. So I never touched Assassins Creed or Call of Duty and probably never will. Might get into Assassins Creed at some point but not for another year or so. As long as no one forces me to play sports games I’m good.

  2. Vaughn!

Totally understand what you guys are saying about Assassins Creed. So many amazing chances to explore the rest of history but instead it just seems like they took one look at the feedback from AC3 and said “Well people enjoy boats”
